6th grade – Went through the activity sheet on rhythm review and two days without music. The activity sheet is to be turned in on Friday, August 31. Sang vocal warm-ups. Sang through “Art thou troubles”, “I’ll make a difference” and “Bound for the promised land.”

7th grade – Went through the activity sheet on Rhythm review and Two days without music. Sheet is to be turned in on Friday, august 31. Sight -read in S.R. book page 1 #7 in the key of G major in 2-parts. Sang vocal warm-ups. Sang through “Reach out”, “I’d like to teach the world to sing” and “Joy in my heart.”

8th grade – Went through the activity sheet on Rhythm review and Two days without music. Sheet is to be turned in on Friday, August 31. Sight-read on page 24 #7 in the key of G major in 3 parts. Sang vocal warm-ups. Sang through “Sic Parvis”alto and baritone part, “I got sun in the morning” alto and baritone part and “Come sing with joy” part I only.

6th grade choir – Sat in new seating arrangement. Clapped and counted out loud rhythm patterns from sight-reading book. Sight-read in the key of G major. Did vocal warm-ups. Sang through part II of “Bound for the promised land” and listened to “I’ll make a difference.”

7th grade choir – Clapped and counted out loud rhythm patterns form SS book. Sight-read in the key of F major in 2-parts. Did vocal warm-ups. Sang through “Joy in my heart” and worked on verse 1 of “Do di li.”

8th grade choir – Clapped and counted out loud rhythm patterns from SS book. Sight-read in F major in 3-parts. Did vocal warm-ups. Sang through “Come sing and be joyful” and “I got sun in the morning.”

6th grade choir – Performance shirts were passed out for orders made during registration. Reviewed note values. Clapped and counted out loud rhythm exercises in the sight-reading book. Practiced sight-reading in the key of F major in sight-reading book. Listened to and sang through part I of “The promised land”

7th grade choir – Sat in new seating arrangements. Performance shirts were passed out for orders placed during registration. Reviewed note values. Clapped and counted out loud rhythm exercises from sight-reading book. Sight-read in two parts in the key of F major from sight-reading book. Learned part I of Do di li on page one. Learned the pronunciation of verse 1 of Do di li.

8th grade choir – sat in new seating arrangements. Performance shirts were passed out for orders placed during registration. Reviewed note values. Clapped and counted out loud rhythm exercises from sight-reading book. Sight-read in three parts in the key of G major from sight-reading book. Learned all three parts for the first 15 measures of “Sic Parvis.”

6th grade choir looked at sight-reading books and reviewed solfege hand signs. Listened to “Bound for the promised Land.”

7th grade choir did vocal warm-ups, reviewed solfege hand signs, F Major, sang through exercise #1 on page 1 of the pink sight-reading book. Listened to “Dodi Li” and began learning the Hebrew.

8th grade choir did vocal warm-ups, reviewed solfege hand signs, F Major, sang through exercise #2 on page 24 of the green sight-reading book. Clapped through rhythm patterns out of purple sight-reading book on page 2.

Today we came up class rules and expectations.

We came up with ideas for service projects.

The 7th and 8th grade did a character trait activity.

The 6th grade filled out an index card with information about themselves.
